Agreed. I expect the reviews of it will start something along the lines of “I just played... something. I’m still not sure. 10/10!”

I agree. I have a feeling playing the game will clarify what’s going only slightly.

It’s true. I know I’ll never be a professional athlete. Still jealous of those amazing muscles though.

Add young children to that and free time is like basically an hour or two at night, when you want to relax. Hence the lack of ability to both exercise a lot AND play a lot of games.

Yeaaaah I don’t eat sugar or flour and I exercise but taking the stairs instead of the elevator isn’t going to make me look like Rhonda Rousey. Also I have two kids. Besides, I don’t care about appearance/physique so much as being a badass fighter like Rousey. That does take a lot of time.

I like how you can tell how pleased everyone is to be playing this classic song. It has to be the easiest tune ever for The Roots, but they all seem to be pretty joyful about playing the Mario theme song with Mario’s creator.

I’m impressed she’s so fit and has time for a WoW obsession. I wish I had time for both :(

I was also surprised by how slim it was out of the dock. Much smaller than I expected, but I guess I’m used to the bulk of the Wii U gamepad?

I can only take Fallon in chunks because he can be so over the top. But I don’t doubt that his enthusiasm and playfulness is real. I think he was genuinely stoked, scripted reveals or not.

Colloquially, yes, we also call them in-laws. But technically in English only your spouse’s direct relatives are in-laws. Relatives by marriage to your spouse have no word for your relationship to them.

If you go talk to an old lady in Vector in a part of the game when you have no reason to go there, she reveals that Kefka was an early magitek experiment like Celes. It did succeed in giving him magic powers but the procedure also broke his mind and made him insane. They refined the procedure by the time Celes goes

One thing I really hate though is hiding essential plot information in in-game books. FF13 did this, basically got around good writing and in-game experiences by putting primary information in what was essentially an encyclopedia. Not fun for most people.

I’m a little surprised by Japan’s proportion of “can’t use computers.” Is this because of the hyperaging population?

I would have been fine with that. Or a belly shirt with a pair of real pants. Or normal shorts. Or a shirt under the jacket. Or a sports bra instead of a red push-up, which is completely impractical for working in. Anything to make her look even slightly believable. That’s how low my standards are for female

Yep, alumna and emerita both are the singular feminine forms of the words. Nothing wrong with them. I don’t even mind “poetess” or “actress” or “waitress” either. There’s nothing inherently bad about female-specific words. Frankly it irritates me that to be considered legitimate and professional, women have had to

I keep laughing mirthlessly to myself, remembering the days when I was concerned about George W. Bush’s push to the right and extreme Neo-Conservatism.

This is precisely why I keep my purse/wallet/things I will need at my destination in the back seat of my car. I’m so paranoid that I’ll be going through the motions on autopilot and walk off.

You mean Hawaiians?

If you’re talking about the conspiracy theory, of course not. If you’re talking about a man randomly terrorizing a pizza place and its patrons because he reads too much internet conspiracies, yes that actually happened.

“Pizza-gate” is a conspiracy theory by extremists generally associated with the white nationalist group “alt-right.” It’s basically a conspiracy that the Clintons funneled money through a D.C. pizza shop for a child sex trafficking ring. As a result, a man with an AR-15 took it upon himself to “self-investigate” this
