When I crossed the border from Canada last week, the US customs agent asked me specifically if I was bring back Kinder Eggs. When I replied, no, he informed me that the Duty Free store was able to sell them, and he’d let me use the Nexus lane if I wanted to turn around and get some.

Ask that question of Karla Homolka’s lawyers, and the people who prosecuted her. Most people (i.e. most jury members) don’t believe a woman could be a willing participant in such things. Or if she is, they don’t believe she could be the ringleader.

This was a woman who adopted a little girl entirely so she could torture and murder her. I seriously doubt she ever thought of the victim as her “child.”

Unfortunately adopted kids are second class citizens.
