Well ... It’s not like sleep is a disease. Sleep is humans’ way of regenerating. The Doctor is very much into regeneration, especially now that he’s been granted an extra helping of it. So of course when someone comes along with a way to virtually get rid of sleep, and touting it as some great advance, it bothers him.
I don’t know if you’ll ever get the 4-hour version, but there may be something that’s coming along that might be slightly less long than that.
