The only problem with assuming worse visibility is that a.) darkness plays no role for LIDAR detection and b.) that video betrays itself showing multiple street lamps that indicate a well lit road. I hope that the autonomous equipment is a separate thing (and much better ) from the dashcam.

What we would have seen from a decent dashcam on a lit road:

video cameras have a hard time with night time footage but this video in particular is especially poor when compared to a decent dashcam.

likely a video issue as there are lamps that illuminate the street but the video is still poorly lit.a decent dashcam can show more of the road even in complete darkness :

cows or horses ? appear in driving lane at 2:06 about the same time steering inputs were made and driver completely in the shoulder lane by 2:07. Camera vary in light resolving power so visibility may vary but the dash cam on the uber vehicle is on the poor side at least when compared to the clip im comparing to.

That is likely the case while cameras vary in light resolving power a similar footage shows a driver starting to make steering inputs not a second after horses appear at 2:06

it just needs to be able to deal random pedestrians charging across the street and people executing a u turn from the third lane on the free way and it be fit for use everywhere else.

as much as that diesel wagon like to spend its time spinning at 3000rpm doing 67 mph it would sure appreciate another gear to cruise the highways in.

the DVLA no longer issues V5cs with Cat B cars since 2016 either it was both registered cat B by a previous owner and was bought by him only to find he cant reissue a V5c or it was wrecked post 2016.as far as crushing it though likely that thing is full of stolen parts.

i think prior to 2016 you can register and insure category B until DVLA got rid of the VICS

Except that if kei cars and other econo boxes can pass the standards set by the japanese government why cant MOPAR make their cars to suit like every other vehicle manucturer bringing their global car to the USA

worse the smugglers will still be making a profit on this one buying it back in one of those auctions especially used premium vehicles that couldn’t be federalized otherwise short of moving out of the country. Someone will throw money for a r32, nsx, e36, lambo, RS200 ....especially with the assurance of a clean title.

the smuggler will just buy them back and sell them elsewhere or try to smuggle them back
