I remember one of the earlier ideas for the third film involved Axel traveling to London and teaming up Sean Connery (or John Cleese) to avenge the murder of Paul Reiser’s character. The series really loved murdering off Axel’s friends... Only Ronny Cox managed to survive.

Yea, the sequence has the tape cutting out before switching through different TV shows including a scene from Falling Hare, the Looney Tunes short where Bugs Bunny fought gremlins. It ends with a re-edited scene from Chisum where John Wayne murders several gremlins.

Jonathan Banks was all over 1984. In addition to this, he also turned up as the drunk deputy in Gremlins and Lizardo’s guard in Buckaroo Banzai.
