When you place a tariff on an imported good, local manufacturers raise prices to match and pocket the profit. They don’t keep prices low to gain a competitive advantage.

The scary part is that he feels empowered enough to be the first US president in the last 120 years to openly say “I’m a nationalist” without fearing consequences. He has now unequivocally joined the ranks of some of the worst scum human kind has produced in the last century.
