Just because plenty of used market bums here feel like a performance car should compromise as a weekend lumber hauler doesn’t mean Subaru needs to build them one. It certainly hasn’t hurt sales, either. The tightwad “all-around car” hatch crowd would still be driving…

People get it. It’s loyalty to a concept. But the time has come to improve on the concept, because the 86 was never perfect to begin with, and improvement is possible. That’s why the refreshed Twins will have more power, among other improvements. It’s coming.

Yes, but the same FA + turbo in the WRX (if the bottom mount turbo would fit) wouldn’t change much regarding weight and balance. This is all moot though, because the refreshed Twins are confirmed to be coming with more power, likely with a N/A engine.
