Normally a big, dumb pile-on would bum me out but i really enjoyed this. You deserve chain pizza.

hi, Papa John!

I’m not sure. I honestly thought he would’ve been among the first accused so maybe he’s clear?

But, like, shouldn’t way differentiate between acts of abuse? I don’t want Baldwin or Kelly (or Aran, for that matter) to be the one who decides what punishment is appropriate but I don’t think assuming that anyone who differentiates between the severity of abusive actions is a misogynist or an apologist is the right

“For the party leadership, black people aren’t whole people who have the same concerns about taxes, job creation, education initiatives, international policy and economics as other voters.”

It’s good that he’s leaving. And good that he’s giving the governor time to name a replace/let the replacement set up a staff and get ready for the senate. She or he will have to hit the ground running; every democratic senator counts.

Hey everybody! Let’s make sure we’re all arguing knowledgeably about what each justice said and read exactly what was asked and how the lawyers for the petitioner and respondent answered! Knowledge is power!

I love my hometown (grew up in Kensington/Fishtown area in the ‘90s) but there’s a lot of pain and desperation that I don’t miss.

Actually, those suggestions are pretty great. I don’t want to see Apu written off the show but I’d love to see the show take the Nahasapeemapetilon family in a more in-depth direction. The show has always humanized Apu & used cheap stereotypes so I don’t think it would be too much of a departure for them to give his

You could also use the junkie anecdote to describe getting off a bus in Northeast Philly.

i get where you’re coming from! so much of the excitement has a weird “omg LOOK at THEM together!!!!!!11!!!1!” type of feeling to it (to me, anyway) that i’m either missing something (she’s super funny and i have no opinion on him) or there’s some strange background stuff.

First off: I don’t rap the n-word out loud. I used to and then i realized it was stupid and offensive so i stopped. I do have a question about literature that includes the n-word. If a non-black person is reading a novel or poem out loud and it includes the n-word, what do we do? What does it mean if we choose to say

well, GK, if there really is more to the story, as you say, i’m sure you and your fancy legal team are on it. somehow i doubt that there’s more to the story but, shit, i’d be happy to learn there’s one less abusive asshole out there

Mmhm. He seems like a vapid douche but, whatever, if that makes him happy then great. I enjoyed the Buzzfeed profile but I can totally understand why he, as the subject, would be a little miffed by it. I’ll snark at him for being blandly handsome and ditching his twitter but, shit, i’d probably do the same if someone

Cool. The already privileged will move a little closer to parity. I assume the vast majority of women are supposed to wait for the benefits to trickle down?

I really like this response. I’ve got nothing of substance to add here but I was so happy to give a star.

Gentrification brings out the worst in everyone. Business owners get their backs up against the wall and play dumb. Normally gifted community organizers make incoherent demands that are far beyond the abilities of the city and/or business.

TANGENT: I clicked through to the GoFundMe and the group has provided photos of the damage. These pricks really went out of their way to fuck up art. Assholes. But you know what was the most despicable thing I saw?

This is a solid list that I’m going to pass around to a few of my family members who curious about what outreach and charity groups exist to aid trans and undocumented folks (they aren’t aware if they’re close w/ trans or undocumented people to ask and are wary of simply googling charities.)

I don’t know if i’d say most or many times people say “believe women” they’re using it quite so black & white but I think you’re right that its laughable to totally shrug off how it can come, especially on twitter or facebook.
