Some people always complain how the SC2 units and their lines are rather weak. Some of them are ok, but others are so obviously trying to invoke the original SC1 unit that it almost becomes a satire - but the lines themselves are not very clever.

I gotta have to hand it to Bungie: This game is as much in the news about exploits and broken mechanics, as it is about hidden/not yet implemented content. A good MMO game is about exploration, player incentives and surprises - and this one fits the bill, whereas almost all others fail.

Truly, achievements/trophies can be a cool thing. They can motivate you to explore everything the game world has to offer, or play it on harder difficulties.

Mighty Morphin Power Monsters? No wait... Mighty Morphin Power Surfers?

The voice actors are walking on very thin ice here. While I do think that their work is important, their celebrity status and impact isn’t that big in the video game business.

I have no words for this. This guy isn’t even worth the “I don’t want to live on this planet anymore” pic.

I think that’s a good choice. Someone who’s been with the company for a long time beats an external dude every day.

This reminds me of Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon, and the submarine level in particular. Jumping atop giant pieces of Japanese-type food was just one of the many crazy fun things in this game.

Since we’re already at the topic of Kickstarter and JRPG-inspired games, there is another project I’ve discovered the other day. It’s called Omnis, and looks pretty good.

Relevant:

Remember when the change of voice actor for Snake was the only thing we fans complained about, and everything else was just cool?
No dissolving of Kojima Productions, no banishing of Kojima from his work, no 180° business change at Konami as a whole.

For the record, I don’t think that Game of Thrones and the like are inherently bad. But the problem is that there is rarely something more lighthearted to counter it.

A good review, it covers up the drama and morality points very well. However, there is one aspect think should be mentioned as well: The mecha fights and technology in general, as well as the ending.

I was tempted to do this typo/joke myself, but decided not to do it. Thanks for pointing this out for others though!

That’s actually canon. In Metroid Prime you can use the X-Ray visor to see how Samus’s bones are clearly inside the cannon. Her arm fills most of the cannon.

A critical, but fair look at these two games. I espectially-agree with the controls. They were “fine” for their time, but putting Aim + Shoot at the shoulder buttons is infinitely more effective, so I’m glad MGS 4 did that.
Actually, I think it wasn’t until MGS 4 that the series got some strong gameplay in general.

Player: Did you see what this patch did to the game’s performance?

So they replaced Cammy with Jill Valentine from Resident Evil 5. Big deal.

One thing I’d like to add is:
