Mr. MiniBig, where's my coffee?

This is anecdotal, maybe in the part of the country you live in that’s your experience, but that’s not what I’ve noticed living in the NYC area. My brother in law has a 2000 limited , never taken it offroad. Ditto with a college buddy and his 5th gen truck. Another friend has a FJ cruiser that never sees dirt either.

Probably something mundane like a Lexus GX460. Gets 18MPG on a good day, 10-12 mpg in the city is well within the realm of possibility especially on winter gas. It’s got a tank >20gals and requires premium. Ours has been parked under a sheet in the driveway since covid started and I can wfh since its a gas sucking pig.

Maybe you’re new here but this is a DT article. 130 bucks is half his next Moab budget.

Good catch.  I can see it, “Double down bitches!”.

Other than for the sake of getting an article out of it, i’m curious to know why you went this route rather than the do it yourself method with a couple of cans of Fluid Film.

There’s no place to take a shit in this thing. FAIL.

Not worst, but awesome.

I’m probably in the minority that thinks its over 3mil. I’d say 3.1 million miles combined.

As others have said , a counterweight can be on a slide and pulled towards the center or it could possibly be a fluid that you pump and eject at the center.

I don’t see much use for this especially with the subscription. Here in the states you can get a AAA subscription and in the blue moon you need emergency juice you call up for a flatbed to tow you to the nearest charger.

Man what a night mare!

Yep, no worse for wire.

Those garage door opener buttons you find commonly on the rear view mirror. If you don’t own a house you don’t use them. If you do have a house half the time it’s easier to just park it in the driveway outdoors. The other half of the time when bad weather is forecast and you do want to park in the garage you just use

I’m in my mid 40s myself and comfort plays into the decision for sure.  I don’t think the S3's styling is too bad, but what do I know as I’m shopping the IS500, G70 and Model3 as well.  I feel the Lexus is probably going to be comfortable.

Prices won’t go back to pre-pandemic levels. Once supply catches up, we can probably hope for a 10-15% correction but the longer these elevated prices are sustained in the market, they get cemented. Yes, inflation is real.

Cheap credit and carrying debt perpetually. We’ve been living in a land of readily available credit with low rates even before the market crash of 2008. Borrowing money is the norm in the states.  I’ve got friends and family overseas and if you want to buy a car, you pay for it with cash. If you can’t afford it, you

Yeah pretty much it. Not great, not horrible. Sold in enough quantity that makes it not especially rare. Bland enough to be forgettable. Not really a niche car. Even Yugos, or Azteks that were ridiculed are at least getting niche love. 1st gen Allroads too.

Maybe counterintuitive but I think the upcoming Integra needs to really hit or else its doomed. Reasons:

I’d add styling to that list. The last generation was polarizing, not in a good way for many. Enthusiasts != only the young. I’d argue that the most important are the ones in the 35-55 age range that can afford to buy enthusiast cars new. And for me as part of that age range I’ve grown out of that boy racer image

Yes I was in the same boat as you. But then I bought a house and now have a driveway and garage and the luxury of having a 3rd car.  Got an NA when they were still cheap and now want a new ND2 RF to daily. They are great if you have another car to pick up the times when the Miata isn’t practical.
