And no “manual” emergency/parking brake. Replaced by an overly complicated mess of electrons. Because pulling on a stick once in a while is too taxing.

A good battery with solid connections and no corrosion. Maybe a trickle charger and an engine block heater too.

I know this is way off topic but why does everybody have a tattoo these days ?

Grasping at straws and crying wolf.

“ I am out of out of here while I still can remember my house address and my knees function more than just barometers”

Right now its harvest season, trains and trucks are full of wheat, corn and whatever. Maybe in a few months there will be more space available.

What about canned water ? Does it have a longer shelf life than plastic bottles ?

It should be clearly marked, like the inside trunk release.  What if the car was on fire ?  What if he got caught in a flood ?  What if.........

Why the f*** doesn’t someone ranch these things ? The Chinese are already spending big bucks in natural resources in Africa. Buy a big swath of cheap African land and there are plenty of unemployed Africans looking for a job. Start ranching elephants, sell the ivory, the locals have a job and get to enjoy an

It won’t be as carbon neutral as cooking with an electric stove powered by solar/wind/hydro, for sure. If the trees were left behind to rot they would still emit carbon slowly. If that forest was left alone trees still die, fall down, rot and emit carbon.  The native tubers and shrubs will soak up some of the carbon.

Amen. I used to work at a tool rental place so I was constantly lifting heavy stuff in and out of pickups. The newer trucks are just stupid in that regard.

I recall talking to a construction contractor about his very basic 2wd, v6 few options  pickup truck.  He said his contractor buddies with their optioned out mega pickup trucks were always complaining about fuel economy and finance payments.

Nice to see the wood is not going to waste. Make it into charcoal for BBQ’s. Locally sourced carbon neutral barbecuing ! Not much demand for heating firewood in Hawaii I imagine.

That whole rolling blackouts thing was a scam by the power companies to charge more.  In the end it bit them in the ass because the entire state went on a electricity conservation binge.

Don’t worry eh, this car is skookum. Just give’er.

I think I read something like this on Jalopnik before.  It summarized that self driving cars have to drive more like jerks.

I’m from Montreal and after having lived, worked and driven a few places I would say Californians are the most like Quebec drivers I have seen. They go briskly, seem to be aware, and don’t get in your way. But the merging, Californians seem to think mergers have the right of way. Quebec drivers are faaaar from perfect

Rented a Renault Logan in Brazil, not a bad car but that engine had no flywheel effect, very easy to stall.(My DD a the time was a manual). Others who drove the car said the same thing. Also rented a Brazilian version of the Panda, nice car too. But yeah, on a fast stretch of highway that thing was turning 4000+ rpm.

True and I think torque is over rated since the only thing that matters is torque where the tire meets the road. But in this case I assume it makes this torque at 1 rpm since it is an electric motor. No diesel or gas engine makes this power the very second the pedal is stepped on.
