Oh, for the good, old days. Back in the day (40+ years ago), a friend (whose parents had more money than brains) bought their college student son (my friend) an XKE. His idea of “breaking it in” was to get on I-10 and head west as fast as the car would go. We’re blasting along at an insane speed and he’s all cackling

Flyover states didn’t get stuff like this, in Denver something like that would stand out quite a bit at any event. I’ve been car spotting around here my whole life and never saw one of those, and never saw it mentioned in articles around here or the other sites.

Keep it running and call yourself Radwood Royalty because you would definitely be the only fool to roll up in one of these.
Unless there is some secret club, or these are more prevalent than “this is the first time I’ve seen one of these”.

That is a good example of 80's styling.

This is what you buy when you wanted a Z31 300ZX but also you hate yourself and want to be unhappy

That is a good example of 80's styling.

i mean look, i love to shit on these things and their owners, but they are legit balls to the wall fast. My car isnt slow, in fact is fairly fast. (jaguar xf S type) but last time out at a lapping day at the track, i hit the big back straight, with a Demon just behind me. first you hear the supercharger wind up then..

A Hyundai Solaris level car at the same price point. The range can be less than 200km, but the price needs to be democratic. I fully realise the technical limitations, but I won’t be convinced until everyone who can afford a car right now will be able to afford an EV roughly equal to their current choice.

But then one of them decided to challenge a guy in a Porsche at a red light to a race and blew the whole boost.

Around here the stolen cars too often are driven through gun stores - front glass, rear doors, probably walls. Then the other stolen cars are filled with whatever didn’t get locked up. They want to be as far away in a short time as possible to move that stuff to a third stolen car that is probably a Kia.

Well the balloons make it fun at least.

Same! I’ve never actually looked at the price of one. I mean I know they are a LOT of car but $100K!? Damn.

They caught the ringleader

This person is implying that it was the detailers who worked at the dealership who stole the cars. The dealership seems to think it was an inside job, and details would be people who know how all the security systems work while also being more under the radar than other employees.

Drive the hell out of them, no pun intended, until they are too broke to be driven any more sounds like a fun plan to me. The profit was the shouts of yeehaw we made along the way, I guess.

Step1 : steal cars

This reminds me of the team of thieves who meticulously plan a $million jewelry heist and get away scot free, only to be caught the next day trying to sell diamond rings to strangers on the street.

LOL @ the green car spinning a tire at idle on the tile floor.

Such a professional job without a plan of what to do with the cars afterwards

What stands out to me here is the almost $100k price of a Hellcat.
