It took about two years to come into its own. By 2008 I bet you changed your tune.

"However, that doesn't mean Japanese people won't make death puns if the console flounders. They will."

Bwahaha. This got the "you gotta read this" seal of approval.

It's all about the games. The launch library is pretty sparse, but few recent consoles really come into their own until they've been out a couple years. It's just a question of whether Nintendo is going to have some solid, awesome first-party games (as well as at least a smattering of AAA third-party games) available

...Which is why female characters always have to be built like supermodels, despite having the strength and dexterity of a 250-pound Marine.

+1. Well done.

The market share is pretty close; the problem is this chart. Most Android users just don't pay for stuff. Low-end users have a tendency to just use the software that's on their phone, and high-end users rootkit and use homebrew stuff (I know I did, I'm pretty sure Minecraft was my one and only purchase). Yeah, I haven't played Snoopy's Magic Show or BBCC in probably 20 years but I can still instantly recall their soundtracks.

Awesome! My grandma did the same thing, that's how I ended up with http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snoopy%27s_Magic_Show .

Right, grown-up me realizes there's a reason they never go for the video games, or at most would grab just one. It's probably all in the hidden rules.

I miss K.B. Toys. Remember the K.B. Toy Run on Nickelodeon? I used to dream of getting on one of those as a kid. It always drove me crazy when girls would get it and fill their carts with $2 teddy bears and dolls; kid-me would scream at the TV "you're wasting it!" I totally would have scooped the entire contents of

It's rare. My father, who's pushing 60, is brilliant and very tech-savvy, and buys virtually every gadget that comes out, but has never really had any interest in any but the most casual of games. Five years ago I got him a World of Warcraft gift box for Christmas and we spent about 20-30 hours over the free trial

Fantastic. I wish any of my older family members were that cool.

Yeah, extra price and power consumption for a feature I will never use. Eww.

Hahaha I totally see it.

Pretty sure that's a Playstation Move sensor, so you can Wiimote it up while also playing a standard controller. If so, would be pretty wasteful considering the Move was a giant flop.

Agreed. PM2 is one of the best games ever made, and has the single greatest title screen music in the history of gaming. I had that as my ringtone for a couple years.

The problem with being an early adopter is that you almost inevitably end up getting burned.
