Go Bolts!

Actually, my point only applies if the situations are similar.

That’s it? Perfect.

Not what I said. If Bob and Steve do the same thing (or similar to the same thing) and I call Bob an asshole and Steve a genius then I’m applying a double standard. If you call Bob an asshole and I call Steve a genius neither of us are applying a double standard.

also different people in different places describing different situations with different words

It’s not a double standard or hypocrisy unless the same person calls the same situation different things. You can’t just say one person called the guy in LA “unstable” and a different person called the driver of this pickup a “hero” and say that’s a double standard.

I’m not a cop so I don’t know protocol. Maybe the guy was yelling crazy stuff, I don’t know. I assume the first order of business for the cops in a situation like this is to secure everybody first and then sort out what to do (mind you, I’m skeptical of cops and civilians alike so I’m not taking either side here, just

(that we saw)

Try it and let us know.

Something tells me if they let him go without a psyche evaluation and he jumps in front of another car later and gets killed, the city and PD would face a pretty big lawsuit. I’m guessing they have to at least take him somewhere to get checked out before just releasing him to the streets again.

Yeah, anybody that voluntarily jumps in front of a moving car probably needs some sort of evaluation for his own protection. Hopefully that’s what happened and not an arrest.

This seems like an important comment.
