I’ve gotten sucked in to Phantom Doctrine, which was on sale for $2 on the eShop last week. I’m enjoying it a lot more than the mixed reviews and bargain bin price suggested I would. It imitates XCOM 2 in a lot of ways, and probably not as well, but “Cold War XCOM” scratches a lot of itches for me.

Do any of you have experience with teaching others how to play video games? I imagine this is a fairly common thing for parents, but recently I’ve been introducing my mother to gaming using Mario Maker 2 and other platforming titles. She played Pac-Man in arcades as a teenager, but never really expressed interest in

There have been some images using screenshots that suggest the text is small when playing in handheld mode. Did you have an issue with reading the information on the Switch’s screen, and do you think it might be an issue on the smaller screen of the Lite?

Say, isn't "mech strategy game where you can see into the future" also the synopsis of Into the Breach?

I should know better than to get interested by a Milestone racing game, but the new MotoGP legitimately does look better than what they’ve put out in the past.

Trials Rising for me. I’ve hit a real annoying grind in the progression, but the tracks are so enjoyable that I can’t help but come back for more. I’m excited to see what people come up with in the track creator; I’ve already seen a real clever Mario-themed level.

Did you put any time into the track creator? I found the one in Fusion to be a bit intimidating at first; there are some concepts that weren’t explained very well. I’m wondering if the tutorial stuff has been extended to that portion of the game as well.

I can’t tear myself away from Hitman 2; it has this incredible hold on me.

Glad to see Hitman getting the love it deserves

Forza Horizon 4's Fortune Island expansion. It feels a lot like Storm Island from FH2, but the treasure stuff is an elegant solution to the in-game economy, which has come under fire for being a bit stingy with credits, in comparison to the cost of cars and houses.

You might be disappointed to learn that Hitman 2 has reduced 47's health again. I don’t think it’s as punishing as 2016 at launch, but he definitely isn’t Iron Man anymore.

For just playing the mission, you got an explosive pen. These aren’t specific to Faba, but the game also gives out unique suits for tallying up elusive target kills.

Jason, I think you have the right approach to the game, but I’ve found it terribly addictive and have been unable to show such restraint and patience. I repeated each mission once or twice before carrying on, which was enjoyable, but they have so much more to offer upon a deep dive through them. If anything, the

I only played the 2016 game after everything had come out; the escalation contracts in early levels were what hooked me more than anything. It’s become one of my favorite games this gen, and I preordered this soon after it was announced. A bit disappointed to see that escalation contracts aren’t around at launch, but

There are two expansions planned, and the legacy pack ($20) for levels from the previous game.

Eagerly awaiting Hitman 2, but not sure how to tide myself over until then. Don’t want to keep playing the 2016 game, what with the levels being carried over and all. Maybe I’ll try to get back into MGS V?

I’ve kinda burned myself out on Forza Horizon 4 at this point, at least until next week’s update. So I got a month of EA Access in order to play the FIFA 19 trial. It’s fun, just not something I can lay down $60 for.

I’ll probably get into like five different games in search of anything that will distract me from my Forza Horizon 4 hype.

I very quickly realized that Final Fantasy XV was Not For Me. I don’t think I made it an hour.

I missed out on RDR the first time around, only having a Wii, but I picked it up for Xbox One (BC) in anticipation of the much-hyped sequel. It’s fun, but also I spend way too much time playing poker.
