You’re actually spending BitCoin. The places I’m referring to accept the actual coin (actually fractions thereof) as payment.

It’s your argument, you should support it.

The fact that you can use it at some places doesn’t [...] make it a currency[...]

Since you like to dismiss comments, I have no idea if someone has already told you this, and it was just dismissed, so I’ll just go ahead and tell you:

“Speak like the people around you” is good advice, that I try to follow. But so is “Be as accurate as possible when you speak.”

Oh look! HamNo STILL doesn’t understand cryptocurrency, and STILL has a platform to pretend like his ignorance and stupidity is, in some way, relevant. Given HamNo and Gawker, I’m not surprised.

[Reposting, since my reply was dismissed]

I wasn’t doing the talking. You could stand to benefit by listening to the people who have already posted. After that, you can engage with the conversation, instead of snarking from the sidelines.

Speaking of people who would benefit from listening...

That’s nonsense. Context determines almost all of English interactions and it’s only when the context is clear that the appropriate assumptions are made.

What’s funny is that you say this, in complete agreement with the article that most people think is not advocating anything harmful, and yet you get comments that imply that you’re pedantic, or that tell you how infuriating people find this.

I hear this one all the time, but it might be pretty niche? Hard for me to keep up, outside of my own circles. Anyway, I have never liked the use of “CRUD” to refer to basic database operations.

Sorry to burst your bubble, here, but OED says that usage has been around since the early 20th century:

We always call them “rigs” or “machines”.
“Rig” usually refers to hardware, and “machine” is usually used for software.

Different situation. The FCC’s new rules would stop states from making laws contrary to the FCC’s rules, yes, but they can’t stop a court from striking down the new rules.

Very much so.

Hey, sorry, replying to you because my reply to Kitties, Stars and Glitter! was also dismissed.

A) a lot of humans drink a lot. “Clear and copious” is a motto for water consumption that encourages people to make sure their urine is both clear in color and frequent in its expenditure. It may not be your thing but it is a lifestyle that many people subscribe to, such as the fitness-oriented and the outdoorsy types

Like I said, back at the start of October:

Yeah, but...don’t dismiss people. You can still ignore people without dismissing them. It’s super easy.
