Ah, right on. Didn’t mean to condescend. Just sharing observations.

Recommends mean nothing (or very little) to Kinja. It’s all about the reply disparity. The more different people that reply, the higher the rank in the sorting algo.

Really? You can’t think of one reason why these women are sticking up for Franken? Not one? It’s a completely foreign concept to you? You are just inconsolably mystified by these women’s action?

Looks like somebody forgot to tell DJI that once you engage in a bug bounty, you pretty much forfeit your right to bring legal action. I know that, as a bug bounty hunter, myself, I won’t touch anything from any company that even SEEMS litigious. Whatever they’re offering ain’t worth the risk if they decide to sue.

Thank you. Super valuable info that can’t really be gathered easily, because searching for it gets you results for the compatibility of the OnePlus 5, instead of the OnePlus 5T, and even when you can track down a review for the OnePlus 5T, I couldn’t find any that would directly list the compatability for the major US

I believe that you haven’t heard of @dril (or “wint”) but I don’t, for a second, believe that you haven’t heard some variation of one of his jokes.

The end game for the discussion is to have all valuable arguments laid bare. That’s my end goal, at least.
I think, back in colonial England, they thought they had free speech pretty well figured out. It basically came down to “You can say whatever you want, but the government can still fuck with you if what you say

I think the biggest misconception in this thread is that either the OP or myself were ever discussing this as an actionable response to the article. As far as I’m aware (and I can’t speak for OP), this has always been a parallel discussion.

A little more detail would be nice. You guys can make analogies to teddy bears and chicken all you want, but there is a valuable difference between sewing one piece of meat onto another, and transplanting a limb, even if it’s onto a dead body.

How have you not understood that this has NOTHING TO DO WITH THE FIRST AMENDMENT?!

Based on your other replies, I imagine we’re at an impasse. I’m going to quote to you what I wrote to another commenter:

Did I say that point was in the comic? Are you aware that discussion can take place, outside of images? Why, it can even take place without images, at all! Though it is a bit more boring.

Understood. We all read comments to our own investment in them, good or bad. It’s my luck that my self-serving understanding of it seemed to more closely align with the OP’s intent.

You’ve severely misunderstood my argument. I’ve already come to consensus with two other commenters in this thread, and I don’t feel like going through the whole nine, again. The long and short of it is: A few private companies, as it stands right now, have the end-all, be-all say about what is and what isn’t allowed

This thread is a perfect encapsulation of the polarization we live with, these days.

Those people are called nerds. ;)

And I haven’t disagreed with your original point. I’ve just responded to your comments, as they came.

He occupies a weird space: a scientist at the forefront of genetic engineering who is also probably the foremost critic of technology he creates.

Yes, exactly! Which is why it’s so bewildering to me that this is, in any way, controversial.

Edited the original comment to address this.
