The NSX Was Only In Development For 4 Years

I love EVs and I do think we should work on building up the charging infrastructure to enable a full transition to them, but I do think PHEVs are the way to go for pretty much everyone in the immediate future.

There’s nothing more American that stating that someone deserves to die and/or suffer horribly because they kind of maybe technically broke the law in a very small way, perhaps.

My assumption is that this will be built on the 12th-gen Civic platform, which, at this point, is likely to be PHEV and EV-only. Given that we’ll probably see a new Civic in 2026, based on current lifespans, I’m assuming this will be coming out sometime shortly thereafter.

They have a platform in mind for it obviously but my point is that it will likely not be built on current architecture, so any discussion of this being the Integra is pointless.

This whole thing is so funny because it ended up going exactly the way every knowledgeable person predicted it would. It’s literally the automotive equivalent of NFTs and crypto.

I’m going to make a controversial statement and allege that this concept is built on the old Yamaha Sports Ride concept.

They are, because we all knew that a new Miata was coming. The Prelude is a dead nameplate that’s being (somewhat unexpectedly) revived, hence the greater excitement around that. They’re both worthy of praise and the world would be a better place with both cars in it, but I understand why there’s greater hype around

The Prelude is almost guaranteed to be a viable production car at this point. The Mazda is very cool, but it’s more of a longshot given the styling, powertrain, and Mazda’s lack of a Honda-sized budget. I would bet it’s more of a styling concept for the new Miata.

Like you said, Honda doesn’t have a habit of building concepts just for giggles. This one looks 90% production ready, especially given that it has actual panel lines, a flat front surface for mounting a plate to, etc. Just put some 19's on this, raise it up about an inch, get rid of the little blue accents, put on

I love the potential of EVs because you can do so much with the basic architecture. Between all of these concepts and the upcoming EV Cayman I really feel like we’re on the cusp of something very cool here.

I am assuming that Honda isn’t going to be charging $75k for these.

Are you joking or what?

And Honda still doesn’t have a dedicated two-door platform. The fact that they showed a static styling model for a vehicle they hope to build in several years’ time doesn’t change what the reality of their situation is now. My assumption is that they are currently working on EV architecture that will be used to

This doesn’t have an official platform yet. It’s a completely static styling model. The production version will probably be built on architecture that will underpin a future EV Civic or another unannounced model.

It will stand out because it’s the only attainable EV sports car on the horizon.

I’m hoping for a 2027-ish release myself, assuming it even comes to the US, which I imagine it will.

The Honda enthusiast community is ready to murder someone over it, as you’d expect, but the broader reception seems to be very positive.

This is 100% my next car. It is exactly what I wanted from Honda - a clean looking, straightforward EV sports car that looks like it would be perfectly practical and usable every day.

I assume that was just a necessity because of some divorce he was going through at the time but he’s spun it to be about his work ethic.
