Apparently she tried to sell them to him last summer and he wouldn’t, for whatever reason, buy them. And she did state that she had a buyer. So I don’t think it’s a matter of him not knowing.

BATMAN: I can’t come. I’m sick. *cough*

He’s not a rando on a comment thread.  He’s an old dude yelling at kids to get off his lawn.

I get what he’s saying, and even agree with him to an extent, but, like, who cares? I simply don’t bother with films that don’t appeal to me. I’m not out there saying all films should be what I want them to be.

If she was white, would she be referred to as a “woman”?  She was only 16.  She was a girl.

It’s also an accepted risk when one consents to a non-elective procedure, ie life saving surgery. In my opinion as a recipient of many surgeries- one of which literally was “well, *somebody* has to be in the 5% failure rate”- she is no less a victim for having complications from a non-emergency invasive procedure.

Tom Cruise is a good example of excellent cosmetic work, expertly done. There is *no way* a normal-ass short, 59-year old white guy looks like he does, which is a discreetly crag-ified version of his mid-20s prime self. He’s had work done. Lots of it. Maybe he’s got an entire surgery/derm/aesthetic team on retainer;

Models are in a particularly bad place re beauty/body image because even if they are perfect, they still get rejected on a regular basis for not having the right “look” or are told by agents, peers, photo editors, etc. that they need to lose some weight. Keep in mind that she worked in an era when shooting a non-white

Women get the message pretty early on that youth and beauty are valuable. After an entire career where her worth was her attractiveness, you can’t figure out why it would be hard to come to terms with aging and becoming less attractive? There is an enormous amount of pressure on women to not "let themselves go." I

Eh that doesn’t mean he’s gay.

I don’t care if she was a [put whatever employment makes you happy here], we can be empathetic for a person that goes in to get a procedure done and is physically scarred for life after.  It doesn’t matter who she was or who she is.  Stop judging people.

Hey, look at what happened *last friggin’ month* to Bridget Fonda after some-20 years of fading into obscurity: a fucking paparazzo figured out where she lived, *staked out her house*, and took photos of her looking like a normal middle-aged mom. She had gained a lot of weight and some of the press were rather cruel

I am more sympathetic, I guess. I think the article is about living with shame, disappointment, and fear of being judged for “letting yourself go.” Look at the recent coverage of Kelly McGillis. Well-known people are not allowed to fall into obscurity when there is news to be made for showing unflattering pictures.

This may be petty, but nothing makes me happier than when anti-vaxxers are majorly bummed that their ranting libertarian nonsense didn’t just immediately convince us all to throw science straight out the window. You nurse your little hurt fee-fees, Aaron. The rest of us are thinking of the community, not ourselves.

You’re not wrong though. She clearly did have issues. Similar to Kanye, they’re being exacerbated by people in her life.

This isn’t being taken seriously because the cartoonish on-screen and influencer aspects of these people’s lives have rendered them non-people in terms of public opinion. This doesn’t “mirror” real life, it is real life.

I think it’s more about the message. Don’t want people getting rebellious thoughts.

Oh fuck this shit. Great way to improve their stats by making survivors less likely to report their rapes.

Except...you cant blame this on just being old. He’s been acting this way since the early 1970's, and he was in his 20's.

“People think you’re funnier because you’re Black funnier.”
