Your joke actually raises a suspicion I’ve had.

But *this* is a daily reminder that she filed a questionable will and stole the inheritance of her husband’s daughters to fund said preserve. The police released a statement saying that the will used to award all the money to Carole is forged.

I think the many, *many* criticisms of both Girls and Lena Dunham are valid - but that Marnie episode you mentioned (“The Panic in Central Park”) is an incredible piece of television. It was like a mini-movie.

Normally, I agree with everything you wrote - but these b!txhes are old enough to know better. Currently, Naomi is 27 and Derrick is 37(!).

Lord! I have ALOT of feelings (and words) regarding this episode. LoL!

The following may be a dumb question to ask, but is this the type case that the HRC, GLAAD or the ACLU could take up? Especially considering he’s disenfranchised via so many different ways?

I think Mark Strong (with or without hair) would have made a fantastic Maxim. He’s good looking in a saturnine way that also plays to the character’s aristocratic upbringing and darker nature.

I’m about four days too late, but felt obligated to comment and agree with you. God forbid that these pseudo-intellectuals just pass the article by and go about their day. But *of course* they have to be incredibly disparaging - as if behaving this way will really make their music choices refined and credible.

Spot on read there (for reals - no sarcasm meant).

I didn’t know about the Blaxploitation aspect. That makes it even more aggravating that they’re not giving Union her due.

I reeeeeaaalllly hate how disingenuous they’re being about Gabrielle Union’s contribution to changing the language of the Black characters.

Both women were serving some incredible looks in the video. I was always fond of Monica’s all black blouse & skirt ensemble (with the mile high side slit) @ 2:45.

Plus, Flula is hot in a very idiosyncratic way. Him being funny too boot makes him a total catch.

Outside of the main characters, she was the most quotable character by a *wide* margin. :-D

Blaque is a girl-group that was an unfortunate casualty of the early-2000 rush to duplicate Destiny’s Child success. But they actually had some good songs in their (too-brief) discography.

Just *one* braid, thank you very much. ;-)

Also, all I kept thinking is that Snyder *already* used this song (and this exact version of it) in “Watchmen”. It’s the scene where Nite-Owl and Silk Spectre f*ck in his Owlship - and it didn’t work then either.

Right? I understand the power of using anger as a motivational tool to accomplish things*, but McGowan seems to conflate anger with negativity. She never seems to have anything uplifting to say/post.

The immediate response is my favorite line (and line reading).

The other reason why this movie is miles above better than its sequels is because Union took a very active role in deepening Isis as a character (versus what was in the original script).
