My point is that Gaga has always been supportive in that she’s done *actual* activism. Which is more than I can say for others, hetero or LGBTQ, who make a show of it, but didn’t really do anything and/or dragged their feet.

Amen.

Gaga is one of the few music artists who truly works to support LGBTQ people. Others may pay lip service and/or borrow heavily from us, but she’s invested actual time & energy into real activism.

I’m truly shocked by how un-extra Daniels’ responses in this interview were. They were almost...tame. He usually says something truly ridiculous and/or stupid.

Agreed. Especially since waiting for the next ASoIaF book seems to eclipse other worthwhile fantasy books out there.

I know S2 is super beloved because of the Buffy/Angel/Angelus arc, but personally I think S3 is much stronger narratively.

I thought Portman’s work in “Black Swan” was WAY overrated, but she is legitimately terrific in “Jackie”.

Plus, that trope seems to be singularly used when a female character breaks bad.

Agreed, there’s no emotional investment for the viewers. Jean was just introduced last movie and was primarily in Plot B.

Thanks! Appreciate the kind words & upvote! :-)

Totally. While I think the Russo Brothers are a much better tonal fit for the Avengers, I still applaud Whedon for cementing the interpersonal relationships in the first two movies.

Ugh. I hate this new 15 minute time limit on commenting. I also want to say:

You ABSOLUTELY hit the nail on the head with regards to why the print version of TDPS saga worked.

I actually DID read the excerpt, so your attempt at snarky superiority fails.

And I completely understand your reasoning and points you’ve made.

The phrase “wigger” is past due for permanent cancellation. I understand, in this context, it’s being used to highlight the cultural appropriation Seth Green’s character engages in.

I find it upsetting there are people on here* using a completely unrelated incident to mock Kattan. Regardless of whether he exaggerated the neck injury or not, that scenario has nothing to do with the Michaels/Heckerling story.

Regardless of Heckerling’s intentions, its clear that *Michaels* engaged in questionable behavior. Kattan says he felt pressured by Michaels to have sex with Heckerling. And he (Kattan) was deeply uncomfortable with the request.

It’s not consensual if one of the parties feels coerced. Based on the quotes, Kattan makes it clear that engaging with Heckerling wasn’t something he considered until Michaels brought it up. And then, his immediate reaction wasn’t sexual desire - it was uncomfortableness.

Plus, he spent his entire 20s there: arguably one’s most emotionally formative decade as an ‘adult’.
