Someone in a separate sub-thread above also asked if it airs on Logo. I can attest it does *not*, which is UPSETTING.

Actually, Logo has not aired DW for a loooong time. They were airing it approximately 2 or 3 years ago but suddenly stopped.
It irks me to NO END that ‘Designing Women’ isn’t as lauded as it should be. Yes, l understand “Golden Girls” is the gold standard for the ‘four female archetypes trope’ show, but DW is pretty damn close.
According to Carter herself, she had an agreement with LBT: for every liberal firebrand speech Julia gave, Dixie was provided an episode to sing in.
I can’t necessarily knock a viewer in missing that.
But they already have other cast members returning as multiple characters this season.
Agreed. She’s distinctive looking, but FAR from not being considered ‘conventionally attractive’.
Gaga’s natural beauty is also really apparent during the close-up shots for her “Bad Romance” music video.
But...I felt as if they didn’t really deny that it wasn’t Stu Stew so much as it imply they had him killed so as to give Miriam his (Stu’s) newly vacant slot.
When the second trailer to this came out - scored to “Crier Tout Bas” - I admit to being immediately hooked. I love movie trailers and the French song added a Hitchcockian allure. So I immediately bought and read the book the movie is based on...
And it was particularly shady that McClure & D’Amico used *every* media interview they partook in to call out Bobbitt’s addiction issues. It came across as a really gross attempt to deflect attention away from their owquestionable choices (ie, the sudden multiple vacations, helicopter ride, the [admitted] usage of mon…
Not to mention, she constantly claims she’s the equal of any *male* rapper but her habit to bad mouth any/every female rapper seems incredibly problematic and misogynistic .
The entitlement in both this article and comments is astonishing. If this occurred on Breitbart, we would absolutely be crying racism.
I apologize in advance if I’m being dense - but (even after multiple rereads) I’m not sure how to interpret your feelings for Bree’s letter. Did you:
That’s a fair point. But he also seems to try to pay it forward via his work in prison reform. I’d be more inclined to judge him if he tried to utterly divorce himself from that period. Yet it seems like he’s trying to use the privilege he’s benefited from to help those who lack it
But - and I’m legitimately asking and not being a smart mouth - is there documentation that shows he’s exclusionary in that way? I did a(n admittedly) very surface-level Google and couldn’t find anything.
Normally, I’d be snarking right there with you...but how he went from convict to attorney actually sounds pretty incredible. And he also worked to help other convicts when still in prison.
I’ve always felt Sean Young got a majorly raw deal with how she was demonized in the 80s & 90s. If she was and up & coming actress now - she would be constantly praised for being ‘honest’.
I wish they had not bothered to create that ‘surrogate mom’ character for Chalke.
He strikes me as the type of chauvinist who will encourage a guy to ‘sow his wild oats’ prior to settling down but insist that a woman should be a virgin for marriage (see also: Prince Phillip).
