They didn’t. GM combined allocations for Sierra and Silverado about 6 months ago. Allocation isnt split by a predermined units of production between the 2 brands anymore. Its turn and earn for both, Sierra could do turn better and earn more than Silverado but GM didnt arbitrarily make the decision to shift between…

I do think they’re probably only sacrificing Silverados for Sierras in terms of allotment on the line and they’re still building as many trucks as possible while other vehicles get the shaft instead, but it’s a valid discussion.

When I sold GMC’s (2019) we actually had a lot of customers coming from Chevy just because the refreshed Silverados were so ugly. I genuinely sold over a dozen trucks to people who said they wouldn’t be seen in the Silverado.
