Ouch talk about depreciation. Also I hope the Timing Chain Guide and Tensioner has been replaced. I have heard a couple reasons why the chain jumps timing but one is a bolt backing its self out and destroying the engine (source).

Yeah that last sentence is whats killer. Could we have saved the car with Pontiac? Probably not but it would have been an epic decade of performance cars.
