I did quite enjoy FTL back in the day. It was a simple concept executed perfectly, one that is easy to learn but gains added depth and complexity the more you learn about its systems. I can’t say I’ve come close to finishing it, because at some point, the randomness of the encounters becomes a big factor to a run’s

but there’s also the part where the game is only available via a Netflix subscription, as part of the company’s oddball push into games; on the plus side, that means you’re free to try it as long as you’ve got Netflix, but you’ll never really “own” it.

Sometimes, I am in the mood for junk-food TV and Chopped does hit the spot. That said, I do get really irrationally irritated by the pre- and post-cliffhanger/commercial break part where they linger on Ted Allen’s hand and the cloche to generate suspense. I also find it a little weird when the basket ingredients

Right?!? Democrats seem to cling to this clueless notion that [insert latest scandal/shocking revelation about Trumpland and the GOP] will finally be the straw that broke the camel’s back, the thing that finally gets the MAGA crowd to reject this lunacy (or at least get back to some sense of “normal” conservative

Honestly, I feel like this is the case with all digital media (whether bought or streamed) outright. I’ve never been a physical media fetishist, mostly because it takes space (especially with books) and is a pain to move from place to place. And yet, it is pretty much the only way to make sure you own it without any

Hopefully, a platform that will soon feature (a leaked copy of) Batgirl.

The low-key popularity of Discovery+ shows on a streaming success just puzzles me. The majority of them seem to be the very definition of a “channel flipping channel”, a show that you might settle on because it looks interesting after flipping through channels, something you’d put on as something in the background

From the people who *didn’t* bring you Everything Everywhere All at Once, it’s this year’s next sleeper hit, Nothing Nowhere Never Happening!

I mean... I imagine that Wakanda Forever will draw comparisons considering Namor and Aquaman are like.... the exact same character.

No worries.

Oooh, another caster I can trade tips and gossip with!

Shit... I somehow double-posted the one image (Kinja! *shakes fist*).  I probably could fix it, but I’m just too lazy.

Reading it issue to issue, I did honestly lose the plot from time to time. I may have to reread the whole series again at some point in the future just to see how it holds up.

The comic does have a pretty explicit reference to iPods:

Five years ago, when “literally” came to mean “not literally”

Physical signage also stands out more than a single silly tweet in an endless sea of meme-able content. There’s something delightfully charming about doing a double take as you’re driving past a McDonald’s, or joyfully stopping to take a photo while walking past your neighborhood DQ.

I mean, I’m old enough that I remember the constant spam/help requests from dumb shit like Farmville, so one braggy post a day seems pretty manageable. I mean, there are people out there that willfully subject themselves to the depredations of Twitter and its nesting infinite scrolls.

I feel like this is more a referendum on the notion of restraint than a condemnation of Subway.

I mean, these lists are never going to be wholly inclusive, but, yeah, there’s also Martin Scorcese and Leonardo DiCaprio.

Wu ends her statement by noting that, “after a little break from Hollywood and a lot of therapy I feel OK to venture back on [social media].”
