That’s a stupid comparison. David’s describing a self-imposed code of ethics, and the person you mention has no such code.

All of a sudden, people who don’t like taxes are for the poor. Funny, that.

This is a bad comment.

It’s a pipe dream, but I keep hoping that Defector will eventually just absorb talent from all the other sites I visit and I can leave this place for good. It was once a Good Place on the Internet.

By saying “especially in New York or LA” you have reinforced the point. Lots of places in this country don’t have the options that those cities do. You are exactly buying what Hannity is selling here by explicitly associating chains with conservatism.

Look, in a lot of the country, this is what there is. Variety and diversity of food options is getting better but if you’re in the middle of the country or a more rural (or even suburban) area -- even within driving distance of NYC or LA, you will get Olive Garden. Your attitude is exactly why Hannity’s ridiculous

I just saw this during the holiday reruns, and it was great. Keep it up and screw that guy.

I generally like the editorial voice of this place and the comments too, though neither are what they once were. It’s sad, and was totally preventable. Bad management. The Drive is a little dry for me.

It’s the worst. A tip that I saw in the comments once is to resize your browser to make it narrower. That tricks Kinja into thinking you’re on mobile and it will reformat it into a list.

That grille looks like a Toyota

I never understood how that could happen, but it nearly did with me. When our kid was a few months old, taking him to day care was a new habit — and generally it was my wife who did it since she had a later start to the workday. One day I was taking him for whatever reason, and I just drove right past the turn for the

You can finally cast from iOS, you mean. Everyone else has been doing it for years.

Stick to sparks

It is the best comment platform by default because all of the others are so much worse. It used to be better, amazingly. But the Herbs got to it. Disqus can die. Whatever Defector is using is ok I guess.

This regulation is to try to short-circuit stupid people. Directly making fuel more expensive through taxation would have the desired effect almost immediately and with little friction. But good luck trying to raise the gas tax and keep your job if you’re a lawmaker.

Riot? Or just shuffle off aimlessly while trying to remember why we used to come here.

I was wondering the same thing like, since they all own it, what happens when one of moves on or when they hire new staff? For now though, I'm happy to see it.

Yes. Stop not drinking and driving. If you don’t stop not doing that, they will be forced to steal your car.

I love going to see spectacle movies at the IMAX (and we still have a real one). And I love(d) going to a packed house on opening night. My couch is nice, but there's something irreplaceable about a theater.

I use mine this time of year in Florida all the time, either because it was just raining, it is currently raining, or it’s about to rain. So, all the time.
