I'm saying, what if she hunkers down in Chappaqua and the New York government refuses to arrest her. If the FBI assassinated her, that seems like it would start a civil war for real.

At some point, the rest of the GOP would step in, if things were going off the rails too much. I mean, they still want to have an economy left to exploit… And again, Trump is starting off very unpopular - now that the election is over, I think we might start seeing more dissent within the part. Eventually.

I've been wondering about Hillary. Let's say Trump decides to throw her in jail - what if NYS decides that's not gonna happen? I sort of feel like we'll get to civil war before we get to apocalypse. Now, depending on who wins that war….

Thought of another:
- Trump might be dumb, and he might be racist and sexist, but he isn't /quite/ as racist and sexist as the rabble he roused, since he lives in NYC. He's just gonna do what he wants and ditch all the rubes he relied on for victory. At the very least he's not a religious fanatic, like Cruz would've

Comforting thoughts(?):
- We're still going to make social progress. It'll just be slower, and not in a direct line, but will still happen.
- Most of the country still doesn't like Trump. He just got lucky running against a candidate people also didn't like. He's not going to get much slack if (when) he starts

Ha, I actually have seriously been considering moving to a farm upstate. Gotta turn some of that rural red blue somehow…

Well, if they can hold on 2 years, maybe Trump'll be such a disaster that we take the senate back?

Ah man I missed 100000! Did things turn out for the best after all? I decided not to look at any more news so I just assume they have.

Gonna go take a walk and pray for MI and WI (and maybe AZ?) and think about my future. Best of luck to the world! I'll be back at some point today for a postmortem.

Ha - I'm hoping they live to see the horrible errors of their ways. Plus, I think my mom just didn't vote, so she's still maybe convinceable.

I know. : ( I've been wrestling with the possibility all year. My dad has the potential to be a good person, but every family trip there's always a couple racist jokes. And I just. do. not. have the patience for it any more.

Yuck I said trump

Ugh I have to decide if I finally break all ties with my southern family. : (
We had a christmas trip scheduled for NC, but I'm pretty sure my dad voted Trump, and NC just re-elected Mr. Bathrooms so….

We're all in this together, guys. We'll….well….I'll think of something!
One things for sure - I'm gonna become more politically active. Gonna fight against racism and sexist and homophobia and ignorance like our future depends on it. Probably should've done that earlier, but, you know, hindsight and all.

Well, they'll go back to the states at least. No matter what Trumps SCOTUS says, NY (and others) will never let them become illegal.

Yeah. This pretty much upends every single rational principle I thought the world ran on. He had no ground game, much less money, was completely batshit insane, had no plans, never released taxes, etc etc. How does one plan for a future like this? At least in S Korea, where they have a crazy President, the

There goes Florida, and we basically just lost the Senate.
4 years of complete GOP control. Think RBG and Kennedy can hang in for 4 years?

Well, maybe this is just the bitter medicine America had to swallow so that everyone who voted for him could learn what a dumb idea it was.

I've always wanted to live in an art collective and just make art and be a hippie basically, but I also really really like my privacy, so it probably wouldn't work out. Though, if I could have like, a cottage on the compound but not attached to the communal space…

Something flipped in my brain and the panic started draining away. Is this what hypothermia feels like? It's like, I can spend the next 4 years as an art punk, railing against the atrocities of our new fascist state. It'll give my life focus, or something.
