Up until recently, Snell had a double strike requirement that made the liner a bit firmer than DOT and could in some cases impart a higher G force on the head than a DOT helmet. There was a huge article in one of the motorcycle rags about it. SNELL has since modified their standard and I don’t think this is the case…
