Not sure about the reliability part. Its got one of those awful 4 banger ecotec engines which are known for self-destruction. 

I also live in California and as with the rest of the state, it doesn’t rain for 6-7 months out of the year. Every year that the rains come back the first couple of rains its SUPER slick. Seems like people here forget that every single year and so I tend to try and avoid driving on those first few rains.
