Mulched my flower beds, consumed lots of tasty food and alcohol, watched the new Gilmore Girls. All in all, delightful.

It'll snow in hell before James Woods admits his drug use.

It's an HBO show, so I'm sure there will be plenty of sticky wickets.

Yeah, I'm not all THAT anxious about the outcome - it just feels like there's so much negativity being generated from this shitshow right now. Not that that will ever go away, but election season intensifies it.

I am so ready for this election to be over. Even though I've been really engaged and interested in it this year, I'm so tired of this constant feeling of dread.

I'm ok with this. I have complete confidence that SVU will entirely butcher the actual issue at hand here, under the guise of some "twist". But NBC is being terribly wishy-washy in its relationship with Trump.

Fuck having to work for a living. There are so many other things I'd rather be doing right now, and I even like my job pretty well.

Yeesh they even addressed calling her "Supergirl" within the show itself. (Her alter-ego takes issue with being christened that by the media, and her boss makes an argument for it - a bit of a lampshade, but it's not like they weren't aware that "girl" would raise some eyebrows.)

My brother and his family are moving back near the rest of us after living in Chicago for almost 8 years!

I made chicken drumsticks cooked in a tomato-cream sauce, which basically ended up tasting like Italian chicken tikka masala, so you know, the best thing ever. I don't think I'll use drumsticks next time though - too much of a pain to eat when they're not pick-up-able. I'll probably use chicken thighs instead.

Mrs. Hubbard is a great role for her, and even though she's done plenty of comedy, still has some meta-ness to it.

Hey now, let's not make sweeping generalizations! … No you're right. At least his prison in Wisconsin doesn't reach temperatures that would bake cookies.

Toterability Index: Amelie's back to rate her favorite potato-based side dishes! (Surprise, she hates them all.)

I worked out with my trainer yesterday and my back muscles are crazy sore (in a good way, not in a strained way). That's right, back, you're going to get stronger whether you like it or not!

Happy GumBirthday!

Post it as free on Craigslist and leave it on the curb. It'll be gone within a day.

Ugh I heard an interview on NPR with a retired general who supports Trump - he implied that her actions were treasonous, but that Trump is qualified "because he surrounds himself with smart people" or somesuch nonesense. Steve Inskeep pressed him on some points, but still, it was a baffling interview.

Love the comment/username dissonance.

Still going to my trainer twice a week (well, once this week, since I bailed on him yesterday), and I'm trying to add in more cardio. Usually I just do machines in the gym, but I had shin splints last week, so I'm going to up my pool time this week. I am the slowest swimmer in the world.

Working in the yard at least part of the time, to pick up projects I abandoned when the temps hit triple digits. Mostly weeding a big flower bed and moving a million stupid tiny landscaping rocks to restructure my backyard.
