Deutschland für mich! I only accept the wurst in my mouth.

I turned off my Tinder notifications and haven't turned them back on yet. I'm kinda ok with that, but the singledom persists.

(Already posted to the Avocado, but…) I finished refinishing a dresser last week for a friend. Sanded off the varnish, then stained the veneer drawers, painted the body, and added geode pulls she'd found.

I used to think "when I'm done…" about my house, but really it's never done. Pick a few things to start with - things that'll make you happy and feel at home right away (sex swing, obv). Then keep a list of things you want to do so that when you have time/money/inclination, you already know what to do next. And try to

I hope you've already reserved his Disqus account. These things will be worth millions* some day! (*millions of what not specified.)

The article linked makes it sounds like all the stats are self-reported, so they're all pretty much crap.

Even with a power sander, it's awful. Good luck!

My family did Disney World for 3 days last year, and Universal for one (mostly for Harry Potter). Say what you will about the near-draconian rules at Disney, those people know how to run a theme park and keep things and people moving. Going to Universal after was a huge step down, even just logistically. The Harry

I finally planted my first vegetables! The gardening email I subscribe to told me to put tomatoes and peppers in the ground, for fall harvest, even though it's hotter than Satan's taint here right now. So I picked up some of those (cherry tomatoes, jalapenos, bell peppers) plus basil, okra and spearmint because I like

I randomly downloaded Tinder last week. I like it so far. I went on a date with a guy last week - zero chemistry, but it was good to dust off my dating shoes after being retired for so long. I like that I can use it or not whenever I feel like it. Previously when I jumped back into the dating pool, it felt like such

My "TV while I work" this week is Veronica Mars. It's been a while since I watched it but the RR with Enrico Colantoni reminded me how much I love it. And I used my Audible credit this month to get one of the VM novels (Kristen Bell narrates).

Refinishing a dresser for a friend - it's my first time staining veneer instead of just painting it, so that's been interesting. And she's giving me a free hand in picking out colors, which is always fun.

"Fuck" seems to strong a word, but I'm annoyed at coworkers wearing political shirts to work, when your work has nothing to do with a campaign or issue. It's just tacky as hell.

My lunches this week are zucchini and corn fritters topped with lox, plus cherries. It's like summer in my face.

Mine came back to life for about a day and wouldn't let me switch to my Disqus account (this one). It was annoying.

I'm refinishing a dresser for a friend which involves sanding and staining veneer, which I've never done before. The first go-round, I didn't sand enough (because I didn't want to go through the veneer) and it looked awful. I re-sanded and put a new coat on yesterday and now they look awesome and just like my friend

I hope one day to be important enough that other people will tell me what to say AND respect me enough to "include fragments that reflect [my] own thinking." What higher honor or praise could there be?

I'm having trouble even dealing with the minimal coverage via Facebook posts and NPR on my 15 minute commute. The whole thing is just a dumpster fire.
