I started going to a personal trainer! Wait, I can't tell if that's good news or not. Well, it's news. He seems like a very cool dude and not at all intimidating, which is good because it doesn't take much to scare me off working out.

Welcome back ICP! I just finished Scott Lynch's Gentlemen Bastard series (what he's written to date) and now I have to wait until September to read the 4th one. Thoroughly enjoyable and interesting, even if I am kind of tired of the bondsmagi at this point.

That means I'm only 1/3 old! Hurray!

I built some behind-the-door shelves for a friend. I got to use my new tools (miter saw and pocket jig) and she paid me 2x the cost of the supplies without my asking, which is lovely. But it also meant I spent most of Saturday squatting so I spent most of the weekend sore as hell, and I put my finishing punch into one

So sad, but true.

It's not a quote (there are too many to name), but in Reaper Man, he describes the Dark Morris dance that closes summer and welcomes winter (a play on the springtime Morris dance), then in the afterward of Wintersmith, he says that a group actually performed a Dark Morris dance for him once, and that it was

Live and Let Shag

One of my absolute favorite movies. I miss that Mike Meyers.

Then later when he was conscripted for a feast in the great hall, passing hors d'oeuvres.

Maya Rudolf and Neil Patrick Harris tried already. I enjoyed them quite a bit, but I guess not a lot of other people did.

Both of those are outstanding. We were using Nursery Ninjas, but I'm open to any and all suggestions, regardless of taste or class.

Ha no, I have a key and her husband knew all about it. But my friend and I are considering starting a business around stealth nursery decorating. We'll have to work on our lock-picking skills before we get off the ground.

Tiring. I refinished my deck (most of it) - it looks better, but man, wood decks are a pain in the ass. This week will involve patching the few rotten bits and staining those. A friend and I also broke into another (pregnant) friend's house to put her crib together and start working on her nursery. She loved it, so

I got to use my new compound miter saw for the first time this week! And I still have all my fingers!

I did all my weekend bitching on the Avocado, but in between stripping my deck and battling flea infestations, I finally got around to seeing Deadpool. I liked it a lot more than I expected! I like superhero movies, but I wasn't psyched about the gory violence I'd heard about in reviews, or the 4th wall breaking - I

I'm already so tired of this election. #noone2016

Also, I'm tired of people bitching about closed primaries. Bernie didn't even register as a Democrat until last year and still doesn't strongly identify with that label. I get that there are issues with how difficult it is for a 3rd party candidate to make a viable run, but don't jump to the party just to get a seat

I'm taking Friday off to refinish my deck, which will be grueling but I'm still unreasonably excited about it. Hopefully Mother Nature won't be a bitch and rain on my parade.

If you brace yourself, the wedgie will only hurt more!
