The weirdest thing about the whole JKR ark is that all she ever had to do was nothing. She could have done nothing and carried on being untouchably wealthy and (improperly as it turns out) beloved. And she couldn’t manage to do it.

Honestly, it’s just fucking uncanny to watch the rest of the world realize Rowling was incoherent in her worldbuilding after a whole subset of the fandom thought she jumped the shark hard by Half Blood Prince, and that’s not even getting into the neoliberal/Blairite philosophy bleeding through the subtext that might

Could be worse. There could have been Sorting Underwear that figured out if you went to the boys’ dorm or the girls’ dorm.

Correction: The author of the Harry Potter series is not J.K. Rowling, it’s J.K. Simmons.

No see, they have something better than a $600 stimulus planned

This.

If this whole thing wasn’t, as you said, a vanity project of a dumb, racist, sexist pile of human shit I’d be incredibly excited...as it stands, it’s just a $15 Billion dollar bad joke...

But we can’t have a measly $600 stimulus cause of “the deficit”...ffs....

The well-researched fact that working more hours for long periods tends to lead to lower productivity due to work errors provides at least a general way to extrapolate that crunch could have contributed to some of the glitches and bugs.

Yeah the moral math of The Stand isn’t exactly calculus.

Will they emerge, as they did in the ’94 miniseries, as avatars of simplistic, reductive notions of good and bad?

Based on past experience with them, there’s no reason to think that suddenly they’ve chosen names besides “Q”.  Every full-blown Q that we’ve seen is called “Q”.

Amanda was the child of Qs and did not realize that until she was a teenager - she had lived all of her life believing she was a human named Amanda.

Take your like you magnificent bastard you.

I assumed he was a Q.

So I’m pretty sure the Carl “construct” is supposed to be a manifestation of the Guardian of Forever? It actually isn’t 100% clear.

(Seriously though, I rewatched Enterprise to try and give it the benefit of the doubt and it was excruciating.)

the Temporal Wars sound amazing.

You’re not giving abrams enough credit: he blew up Vulcan and Romulus because he had no ideas.

Ohhh Zack, you are going to make so many people angry by confusing that Abramsverse destruction of Vulcan with the discoveryverse/realverse destruction of Romulus.

It is more confusing than that. Sara Mitich is the actress in question. She played Airiam in season one. In season two, she switched from that role to the role of Lt. Nilisson who she continues to play in season three. The role of Airiam was taken over by a different actress — Hanna Cheesman who is now very much out
