I was expecting a “tears in the rain” reference, but i thought I’d have to wait until the comments thread to get it.

Well considering she could end up in jail or in court while they are filming it makes sense to write her out.

The other cultural reference point is “Have Mercy.”

THANK YOU. This “story” only paints AOC and crew in an unflattering light, that they have abandoned their principles and are now beholden to whatever evil Nancy Pelosi is up to. Is she threatening to revoke support? That doesn’t seem like something that would or should scare them. Strip them of committee memberships?

The Politico article, in one .gif:

In some other countries, election season is legally mandated. Can you imagine how awesome it would be if we only had to deal with this shit for a few months instead of two-and-a-half years?

I wish I shared your optimism.

Yes, Daniel Brühl is amazing, I follow him since his breakthrough role in Goodbye, Lenin!
And for the record, we all love Captain America, but Iron Man was right.

I’ve loved Daniel Bruhl ever since I saw him in Joyeux Noel, a lovely film about the Christmas Eve truce in World War I. If you thought he was good in Civil War, definitely check that one out.

Civil War is a TOP3 Marvel film by doing two new things in the franchise. First, the movie becomes smaller at the end, not bigger: the big set pieces are at the beginning, and the last fight it’s just Iron Man and Cap punching each other. But every single Easter, she gathers her family together (which by

Flubbed the landing there. Should have concluded with “the only person who got nailed that night was on-screen.”

You are there to answer some damn questions.

What is “really fucking depressing”?

No bet. I’m firmly on the “life is rare” side of the argument, and that the distances between stars is so great combined with the limits of the speed of light that they will never visit us, and we will never visit them.  You can speculate all you want, but the evidence to date is not encouraging.

Someone who was a 10-year-old fifth grader on the playground in 2003 is plenty old enough to be an adult writer now. Fact-checking the details of someone else’s emotional experience feels like missing the point.

its the fastest growing state in terms of rate of population, iirc. I live right next door in Spokane, WA (which is also a hot bed of white supremacy) and hoo boy..going into parts of Idaho is straight up scary. The Idaho panhandle is filled with empty wilderness that is painfully gorgeous and all sorts of militia and
