It’s confirmed that it’s Michael Keaton’s character from Mr. Mom.

I found him pitiable, somebody to feel sorry for not be inspired to become. But differences of opinions are okay. Though my interpretation of the ending was that it was all an hallucination in his head, as Arthur has shown to be a VERY unreliable narrator.

Blade showing up to murder Jared Leto a thousand times over would’ve automatically made this my favorite movie ever

Dark Knight is great if you ignore the plot holes and contrivances.

11 nominations... really?  Does this film have to dominate 2019 so much?  It wasn't even the best Martin Scorsese knock off in a year where an actual Martin Scorsese film came out.  Its King of Comedy meets Taxi Driver by way of the Hangover directo .  Yes Phoenix and the score are great.  Does that make it worthy of

Is Joker going to become this years Green Book? A shitty film that wins best picture but anyone with a hint of film taste thinks is terrible.

The obvious oversight here is Greta Gerwig, whose Little Women (which did score a Best Picture nomination)

I haven’t read the Best Original Score nominations ever since Under The Skin wasn’t nominated.

wow, I guess we really do live in a society

I finally watched the Joker this week and ended up feeling like it’s a weird movie to generate so much praise and hatred. For context I afterwards watched King of Comedy, and it struck me that what Joker misses is some sort of psychological and/or moral clarity about the character we’re watching. Without that it’s

Joker getting 11 nominations is...a joke.

Personally I find the prequels almost entirely unwatchable.  The CGI has aged badly and the acting is really bad.   The Disney trilogy looks a lot better and the actors actual are acting, so that makes those at least fun.  I liked Force Awaken and The Last Jedi as well,  they are not perfect but they are fun Star Wars

Scott Tobias of the AV Club said that once the visual spectacle of Avatar wore off it would be the Captain EO of our time. Which is maybe true, but it doesn’t (or shouldn’t) negate the experience of watching it for the first time in dark theater. It was jaw dropping. And sure a glut of crappy post conversion cash grab

I liked Avatar. The whole “Dances with Blue Space Cats” plot isn’t great, but it’s bare-bones enough that I could really enjoy it for both the chemistry between Sully and Neytiri, as well as Sully’s changing emotions and experience as his “Na’vi” experience becomes the reality to him. And of course visually it was

how many articles are bloggers going to write about not caring about Avatar?

It was 7 years between Terminator and Terminator 2. It was 16 years between installments of Star Wars trilogy (Jedi- Phantom). I remember the same question being asked then about those franchises. People will probably see a James Cameron movie, regardless of the year or subject. It will probably be a hit because he

If You Care About Avatar in 2020, Please Seek Help”

I saw the FA and TLJ twice in theaters.  I don’t feel the need to watch TROS twice.  It’s not going to have the repeat traffic that the other two did.

I think of this often. I went with my friends to see Avatar, and we all hated it. Then I took my wife and my mother, and they LOVED it. I just don’t understand. And to be clear, up until Avatar, I was a die hard Cameron fan.

Avatar actually has something going for it that the Marvel movies don’t: Old/Older People want to see it. I remember when Avatar came out suddenly my mother, my aunt and my uncle who aren’t really interested in going to the movies wanted to go see it. However they have absolutely no interest in seeing any Marvel or
