3. No editing. (Rare, but can happen for live shows)
4. If you don’t have cable and DVR OTA, there are no free options to stream shows
5. Local broadcasts are rarely available for streaming

I agree with you —with OTA + Hulu + network apps, I feel no need for a DVR. Some reasons you might want one though:

A key benefit is skipping commercials.

For me, it’s mostly sports. I love to start NFL games late and catch up by the fourth quarter, for instance. Same with baseball and basketball.
