Basically.  Just means he did it purely because he is a pedophile, and not out of anger or anything.  the “malice, oppression, or fraud” phrasing I think is just generic legalese from the raw definition of what would warrant punitive damages.

I’ll reply to myself here since some of ya’ll are bringing a lot of baggage to this table that has nothing to do with my post, and are really out here telling on yourselves.

Daring to be an abusive and shitty human being, sure. Look, I understand that Johnny is no angel in this situation, but let’s just stick to the evidence; she was shitty too and deserves to get flak for that.

“Amber Heard may not be a great person”

It’s strange to consider a verdict which confirms Cosby sexually assaulted a minor as any sort of victory. However, the part they seem to celebrate concerns the punitive damages, which if awarded would have deemed Cosby acted with “malice, oppression, or fraud”

Haha, oh man, can you even imagine someone being gleeful over the idea of a woman being millions of dollars in debt because they were sexually assaulted by a famous celebrity and the court system routinely punishes and dismisses women in cases involving sexual violence and abuse. Sure glad we don’t live in a world

Lying to the jury, getting caught photoshopping iphone photos, being heard on tape gaslighting depp saying no one will believe him, cops not arresting depp or giving heard domestic violence because in the female cops estimation - heard was faking, lying about donating money, lying about taking a dump in a bed, lying

I have no idea what kind of person Amber is, but there’s some pretty hard evidence that Depp is at least not a very good partner. But none of that is really any of my concern, the internet reaction to the whole thing was a fucking disappointment. Let’s not kid ourselves, people were so eager to drag a woman as

>saying it “proves” she’s lying

No... The evidence proved she was lying. It was clearly not “a single mistake” either, as was highlighted in the trial, which you admit you stayed away from. There were multiple, MULTIPLE examples. Also, she shit the bed. Literally and figuratively. Blargh.

You can be both against Amber

They’re right, though. He doesn’t deserve to be in that court. He deserves to be six feet deep under a supermax prison.

I don’t know about you, but I’m not hanging around this truckstop parking lot for nothing.

Exactly this. Neither are saints and Depp only won the defamation trial. He wasn’t innocent of abuse, he wasn’t proven innocent by the trial, etc. All of the people dogpiling for clout, lols, or they’re MRA and incels is fucking insane.

Additionally in his statement, Cosby claims to have spoken with two jurors following the verdict, who told him, “You didn’t deserve to be in this court.””

This is clearly Cosby’s version of Trump’s man-who-came-up-to-me-with-tears-in-his-eyes.  Many people are saying that.

I fear the comments that are coming, but thank you for pushing back on this garbage. The trial was a nasty hateful carnival where everybody clearly relished the opportunity to weaponize their misogyny with no reservations, and I’m sorry for all the women that behavior pressured into silence.

I’ve had to keep myself away from trial coverage because it's all so gross. Thumbnails on YouTube where people are relishing a single mistake, or saying it "proves" she's lying... I can't handle it. And you're right, it shows how little we've learned.

Thank you, I feel like I’m taking crazy pills with how many dudebros saw this trial and thought “Surely this guy who had two judgements against him for beating his wife was the hero all along.”

No it’s unfunny because it’s making fun of disabled people

I was curious about the sort of person who would take the time to post that, so I scrolled through their other comments. Every single one of them is a punchline. They come across like a wannabe stand-up comic at open mic night, desperately reaching for a laugh.

Damn, you must be a real asshole.

This is so nice to make fun of someone with a disability
