12/31/1969 is the default Linux timestamp for when there is no valid date. So something is broken in the database and will probably be fixed soon

I still use a CRT monitor, so I can’t wait to watch this tomorrow.

I found the Looper time travel rules surprisingly coherent. Even things that seem weird, like the way Old Joe struggles to differentiate his original memories from the new future caused by his time-hopping, are more of a feature than a bug—illustrating how he’s letting certain changes slip into his consciousness (“He

Hell yeah, Brick is great

Another vote for Brick here. A well-executed concept with great performances, and rewatchable as hell.

I remember reading about “Brick” on this very site and it happened to be playing that one night only at our local historic ‘art house’ theatre. So Mrs. F. and I trundled off the see it and it was fantastic.

Chrono Cross is a true sequel to Chrono Trigger. No, it’s not a direct follow-up with Crono and crew. But it has a stronger connection than meets the eye at first, which all becomes very apparent by the end. I get that some people don’t like that, but that doesn’t make it less of a sequel.

I support his proposal for a naked Oscars.

Yes how dare he choose to make money to pad out his retirement and keep his from want, rather then suffer for his ART

You serious? Danny’s fucking terrifying.

Shelley Duvall gives a great performance in The Shining as a person who is completely powerless and terrified of every single thing in her life, especially her husband but also her son. It's apparently been a thing for the last 42 years to dump on her, but that listless performance is perfectly suited to a person
