I think what we as decent human beings have to understand is that social constructs like gender are extremely powerful, and even if we want to see gender abolished eventually, it’s cruel to foist that expectation onto every person suffering from gender dysmorphia.

So if you get down to it, and you’re not dealing with someone touting scare tactics like JKR, it all has to do with the relationship between sex and gender. This is going to be an oversimplification, but it helps to understand the philosophical roots.

To be fair, her arguments have not held that much nuance. She keeps trotting out old scare-tactic red herrings like the bathroom issue.

Interesting. I was under the impression that venues put up more up front consistently.

When a DJ has a gig, it’s the venue that pays, right?

At least most self-driven creative endeavors aren’t tied solely to a single platform, or to such an inconsistent income stream. Streaming and YouTube video production are at the mercy of advertisers and algorithms that creators barely have any relation with.

I’m certainly not laughing, but I do think it’s tragic so many people turned to streaming and began expecting it to behave like a reliable source of income. Unless you manage to have a contract with the platform, streaming is ultimately like busking on a sidewalk. You may provide amazing content, and people may fill

Based on the reports so far, “appropriate age” is highly questionable.

That happens later in the book series.

I seriously doubt you’d find wide support for calling that type of behavior abuse rather than just scumbaggery and infidelity.

What’s your expectation here exactly? That people ignore accusations until they’ve been completely handled by a court of law?

That misunderstanding isn’t your fault. Both live episodes featured Hamm, but the Amos n Andy parody sketch was far more memorable. The racist Hamm-arm commercial, as you’ve already noted, appeared in one version of the second live episode. The second live episode also didn’t get as many viewers (or as high the

My mistake: I saw Jon Hamm and misread the rest. We’re talking about two different episodes here; I’m referring to the Live episode where Hamm was in blackface (and Tracy Morgan’s character nearly strangles him).

...and it’s acknowledged specifically for how racist it is?

I don’t expect there to be a trilogy from this. This segment of canon is likely to remain in the hands of novelists and comic writers.

However, if you do have a grievance that’s worth suing the company over (rather than just the individual employee), you should absolutely tell HR. Give them the chance to do right. If they do a shitty job handling the complaint, as clearly was the case here, then you have evidence that the company itself should be

Not a movie, and hard as hell, but this was a very good Clarke adaptation overall:

Remember that the chronicoms aren’t in this to simply change the timeline. They’re making sure no one will be able to oppose their eventual invasion.

I actually disagree with that. There are definitely games that I’ve had enormous trouble enjoying after only a couple hours of play, just as there are books and movies I’ve given up on.
