That has more to do with Apple not wanting to let Netflix implement their app directly on the platform, as Apple TV’s Netflix interface is not set up in the same manner. 

Art lives long beyond the artist. In many cases, it’s an objectively good thing that the artists’ opinions no longer matter.

I agree it’s their choice, but a choice can absolutely be wrong, wrongheaded, or ill-informed.

Maybe arbitrary is the wrong word. “Wrongheaded” or ill-informed might be better.

Home video isn’t really an adaptation, though. It’s closer to a book reprint.

Yeah, but when it’s trivialized so easily without any specific intention from the user to do so, the content suffers.
