My car is able to trigger Siri just by holding down a particular button on the steering wheel. And it isn’t even a car that integrates particularly well with iPhone otherwise.

The direction buttons have to be separate in the default joy-con because it otherwise can’t be used as a whole controller by itself. A standard d-pad doesn’t let you hit all four directions simultaneously.
