I wasn’t suggesting a “best genre movie” category. I’m suggesting categories that specifically identify the genre or genres.
I’m not sure I take your meaning.
It’s not really a redefinition. The problem is that when you were first taught about racism and sexism, in all likelihood you were probably given an explanation lacking in any nuance.
One thing that society in general needs a lot more practice at is creating safe spaces and productive conversations that focus on uplifting marginalized groups without having to resort to excluding nonmembers of those groups.
Audio and texture quality might have been a bit better, as was the case on the Playstation. However, loading times between levels would likely have been much worse.
I think this “popular film” category is a bit of nonsense, but I do think there might be room to acknowledge achievements in specific genres or groups of genres. The Emmys aren’t perfect in this respect, but they’re better at awarding a wider array of TV shows than their Oscar counterparts do with movies.
I did not know that a Cubano sandwich was Cuban-American rather than Cuban. Fascinating!
Per FiveThirtyEight’s article from back in 2017, I think the type of “constitutional crisis” the letter writer might be referring to would fall under this category:
The better comparison is buskers, not clowns. Busking on a street corner is the closest pre-internet equivalent of earning money on Youtube or Twitch.
Fair enough, though the distinction is minor at the point when we meet Geralt in the books. By that time, he’s battle-hardened and world-weary enough that he does not act or appear like a young man at all.
A reasonable guess. Interlacing stories from the first and second book would be a good structure overall, driving to a climax where Geralt adopts Ciri.
Unless this first season goes past the first book, you’ll probably have to wait for Season 2. In The Last Wish, Ciri hasn’t been born yet.
Witchers have long lives, but the chemicals and mutations take tolls on their physical age. Cavill will need plenty of grey hair and wrinkles to be convincing, IMO.
“Once Upon a Time in America” is apparently a prime example of a Director’s Cut that made an enormous difference to the quality of the film.
What we need is to revoke the laws that shield gun retailers and manufacturers from these lawsuits. They need to start eating the financial pain of each and every mass shooting, not the venue. They build weapons for warfare and sell them to civilians.
I really wish we could abolish tipping entirely and replace it with a commission-based wage.
We old TR readers are out there. Sad that I missed this post when it was published. You’re a fun writer, and I hope you are finding more opportunities to write.
They should just make a Switch Pro controller that has the ergonomics and button-mapping of the Gamecube (but with a few extra buttons added).
To prevent any singular event? Perhaps not.
