It’s a matter of the punishment fitting the crime. Having your family separated from you should not be considered an appropriate punishment for simply entering the country illegally. Even if that were somehow an appropriate punishment, it still shouldn’t occur until after due process and conviction.

Anti semitism and other forms of white supremacy predate the existence of the United States. They didn’t have to “import” them from the US.

Paul honestly gets an undeservedly bad reputation. Much of what he was saying was potentially quite progressive for his era, but still so wrapped in his culture that it seems downright regressive by this point.
