@resplendent.bitch: Skating judges are notoriously conservative in terms of the way a skater presents himself on the ice (music, artistic interpretation, costume). Pretty counterproductive considering they are judging an 80% gay set of men.

As someone who spent 18 years figure skating and hanging out with plenty of gay men, I don't think Johnny is unique in being loathe to discuss his sexuality. For us, it was pretty much tactitly understood that most male figure skaters identified as gay - not all, of course - but, it just would have been a redundant

So, he attempted to compensate for sounding like someone's conservative father by sounding like someone's conservative, creepy father?

@timothynakayama: Clearly, my woman-brain is too st00pid to understand this anyway. I should just give up and go rear some children.

If masculinized things are imagined to be good for everyone, then why WOULDN'T a woman want to a buy a Mercedes, and what would be the issue with that?

@thesciencegirl2.0: Yup! I believe the direct quote was, "It was in the picture, I didn't write it".

@wonderwoahman: I am from the Boston area. I do not use the word retarded in that way, namely because, well, no matter what the context, you are still using a derogatory word to describe someone with Down's.

@messybessy: And my statement is that, yes, I can make that assumption. I can't prove it, but as someone who speaks a few other languages other than English (sorry if you didn't get that from my handle), I can make a good guess.

It's really nice to see Jezebel poking fun at a woman who has been the victim of a car accident, plane crash, an eating disorder and a debiliting chronic pain disease (RSD), who has also undergone more than 15 spinal surgeries.

@AgnesGrep: BWAHAHAHA. You win the internet today.

But...what about the LENTILS?!

@messybessy: Well yes. I speak Portuguese. And when I see a Portuguese name, and a grammatical mistake that a Portuguese speaker would make, I make an assumption.

@illustrator...er: I guess. Usually on Gawker and Jez, they will at least blank out the names of anything published by someone on Facebook or Twitter.

@messybessy: Yeah, it's weird. As an English teacher, you know, sometimes you recognize the sorts of mistakes that someone makes are indicative of the first language they learned.

@AndPreciousLittleofThat: I'm not saying their tweets aren't in poor taste - but making fun of their spelling AND publicizing the names of these minors for all too see is pretty tacky.
