The Shield’s intro grows on you until you’re screaming “YEAAAH!” along with it. It’s corny, but it playing both at the beginning and end of each episode makes you accept it. You know it so well by the time you’re into season 2 that you just go with it.

Heavily disagree about Smallville.

Isn’t the AV Club now run by scabs and the Monopoly man?

lol Disney can get fucked

It’s a shame Kanye died after MBDTF.

This is the correct take. I can’t pass up listening to his old songs when they come on the radio but beyond that Kanye is a fuckin’ idiot and is best ignored.

Oops, meant boyfriend. No slight on Pete’s manhood intended (which, if stories are to be believed, can defend itself).

I really wanted to like this show, but it’s like every character has a disorder where they can’t stop blurting out “comedic” non-sequiturs. There’s no situation so dangerous and critical that someone won’t just randomly go off on three minutes of rejected Comedy Cellar material about genital nicknames.

There are parts of Murn’s story that I just don’t find believable. Like the idea that Waller doesn’t know he’s a butterfly. Waller is cold, but I don’t think even she wouldn’t put her daughter under the care of the real Murn unless she knew there was some sort of control to it. I don’t believe the Murn butterfly’s

I doubt Waller is a butterfly. Planting the journal to put everything on Peacemaker so she can get him back under her thumb in Belle Reve is a typical Waller move.

I remember as a kid, getting the Boba Fett action figure before Empire Strikes Back came out (saved up those proof of purchases and everything).

When it came in the mail, I remember turning it over in my hands and thinking, “I sure hope there’s a TV show one day where this guy takes a lot of baths.”

wow the thing that blows my mind about this is the idea of James Gunn making something that isn’t a comedy.

That was kind of wild to see The Wall programmed simply as Mom on someone’s phone, it’s the simplest way of humanizing Amanda Waller.

The butterfly screams in the factory were right from Invasion of the Body Snatchers.

My favorite part of the episode was when Peacemaker pointed out how he too had been bullied in his youth by people calling him a bully and insensitive. The delivery of it was just near-perfect.

As long as he keeps generating money no one around him is going to do jack shit

My 2022 resolution is to be 100% more snarky in the comments section of websites that fuck over their staff by squeezing them out for not agreeing to unreasonable relocation demands.

I think Pete’s got the reach advantage, and my guess is Kanye is all talk and no walk.

I got a bit of an Evil Dead vibe from Peacemaker. So I guess while Gunn may have been inspired by Better Call Saul, inspiration doesn’t necessarily equate to execution.
