In August of 1996, friends of mine were getting married. We all met in Chicago, but oddly enough, both the bride and groom originally came from Southern California. Bride’s family lived in Studio City; groom’s mom lived in Northridge, and they chose a lovely restaurant in Ojai, the Ranch House, to hold their ceremony

This is a true story that is scary on... well, levels, ha. I’ve obscured some details so as not to give away any too identifying information, although the details are part of what makes the story.

This happened at the end of last year, and very firmly solidified why we got rid of our ex-housemate.

I told a very condensed version of this in a comment to one of the Jez horror story posts maybe about five? years ago, so I’m officially submitting this now. Now with bonus pics.

The summer after my sophomore year of college, my parents asked me to house sit for them while they went out of town for a long weekend. At the time, they lived in a fairly remote area so it was a bit of a trek, but it was a big beautiful house on the lake and my parents’ pets were sweethearts. First night I actually

Hi Frida,

When was about 26 I moved back in with my parents. I had been going through a rough time and was in between jobs. I didn’t really know what I was going to do with my life and felt a lot of unease. I had broken up with the first person I had ever loved right before my move, knowing we were not right for each other. On

Yaaas I wait for this all year. Ok, ok. Here’s my contribution this year.

So, being creative, young

“Let me put it in account terms: Are you aware of the number of hand jobs I’m going to have to give?”

Runner-up: firing Burt Peterson the second time.

I love Tennant and Bettany, but Tobias Menzies is fantastic. I’m happy to see him getting more leading roles.

Only if you’re unfamiliar with Menzies. He’s as much of a talent as Tennant and Bettany.

If you see the tag ‘Hot Links’ on our site, it means we want to highlight an important story from another outlet that we hope people will read in full. This NYT piece is an important one, and we thought Takeout readers would want to know about it.

So what you’re saying is taking a group of individuals traditionally known for being socially awkward misogynists who have spent years competing in an environment where they had complete anonymity and could say whatever to whomever they please with little to no repercussions, and turning into celebrities overnight

like a 1:10 ratio of positive esports stories to negative ones. It has to be a fundamental problem with the culture of competitive gaming.

And personally, I liked the weird juxtaposition of Page’ epic guitar noodling with Holden’s breakdown. Stop needing everything to be so literal, AVC!
