Yeah, it's sort of hard to tell how Marvel views timelines and alternate universes after it seems like Secret Wars removed those universes from the multiverse. It makes it seem like the world has to go to both 2099 and the Old Man Logan universe but that seems unlikely and a little silly. It's just sort of bizarre.

Oh yeah, it's phenomenal. I love Chiang and they had a couple really solid fill-in artists as well.

Yeah, I would love for that stuff to come back. It might take us until we get a new Question series or if he gets a movie or something to see that back in print.

Right? He's like "I'm gonna kill Hulk and Red Skull" and we all know that's not going to happen. It just feels wildly uninspired and sort of beneath a Lemire/Sorrentino teamup. The art is great and I think Lemire has a handle on how this character thinks but the story is just grating and not compelling at all.

Turtles are pretty great.

I don't think you're being rude at all. We're ok here and I'm certainly not trying to question your beliefs.

Old Man Logan is really odd, especially out of that creative team. It's stoically unambitious, with Logan just wanting to kill the people he blames for creating his future so it kind of has the feel of a dour Punisher book. It just doesn't work for me and it feels uninspired and too self-serious by half.

To be honest, I think a lot of this line of criticism simply revolves around the fact that it's a book that's often passionately about female self-acceptance and some readers see this as intrinsically preachier or more distracting. In that case, it's probably not and never will be the comic those readers want it to be

Azzarello's run papers over a lot of its problems with style and it's lucky it's able to do so.

Then why are you saying it's not fun enough? What do you actually think the book should be? What are you looking for?

I think there's a way of saying "This comic doesn't work because of x, y and z" and just acknowledging that it's not for you. I think that's the case with Carlos' criticism.

Torso's better than Goldfish and Stumptown is better than Torso.

Who said it was supposed to be fun?

Kirby's Bicentennial Battles makes a strong case for being the greatest Cap story of all time.

What things do you like? Do you like things? Please explain.

That's fair. I like Azzarello's a lot but it's so different that it's almost hard to compare.

Disagree!

I mean Thor is set up as the final protector of the universe immediately before Secret Wars when he fights the remaining Beyonders with Hyperion. Arguably, he's pivotal in Doom ending the universe so it makes sense for Hickman to put him as Doom's right hand in Secret Wars. I thought it worked organically and

I don't know why you've decided that subtlety and nuance are your biggest problem with a comic called, and I repeat, BITCH PLANET.

I'd take it over every noir story Bendis has ever done any day of the week.
