For now, Marvel's only been putting it on the first issues of books and annuals which is rough but not unbearable. I do think it's impacting whether or not people are willing to take a risk on some of All New All Different's newest titles.

Marvel's really pushing the limit of $4.99 comics and it's really tough to buy into a new series at that price. I do think DC is quietly doing super exciting things with titles such as Midnighter, Omega Men, Grayson and more as far as taking big ideas, new talent and really letting creators go crazy.
Jamie McKelvie's Young Avenger design for her really showcases how great he is at making clothes look like a real superhero outfit. It all looks cohesive, almost uniform but has that feel of her just throwing it on. It's great.
I disagree with your characterization of his words. I think Sava is pointing out, rightly so, that while it's good that Ewing is writing a diverse team, it still shines a light on Marvel's startling lack of diverse writers. It's a pretty white staff right now and I think he was generally pushing for a more diverse…
Takara got a new inker and it really makes him shine. That scene of Cassie gliding into Mother's compound looked like it could have been Jerome Opena. It's a perfect example of a new inker making all the difference.
I think what Sava is saying is that by featuring more diverse characters, Ultimates can tell DIFFERENT stories, ones we haven't read many, many times before in books that regularly featured the same white characters you've read in books over and over and over again. I don't think at any point he's equating diversity…
Do you really feel like they're not for you? As a fellow, middle-aged, white-dude, I really don't think I'm being excluded from the conversation just because the characters look different from me. I don't care that the Avengers are different. I never associated with these characters because they were white like me. I…
He's about the only Deadpool writer I can tolerate and he and Ed McGuiness are usually a dynamic team. I'm picking this one up in trade but I am excited.
It is definitely weird to see some books seem to mostly ignore the 8-month gap and some really embrace it. Apparently, in the X-Men, Cyclops declares war, dies and breaks the X-Men but in Thor, meh, Jane goes into chemo some more, Odin's still a bit of a turd. Same old, same old.
My LCS has said that sales are flat right now for many of the titles and they're struggling to figure out why that is, whether it was Secret Wars delays and tie-ins killing interest or just disinterest in what's out there now. It's disappointing. I'd love people to find books they like but right now, Marvel's put old,…
Eh, they unmask Ronin pretty quickly, so while it was dumb, it wasn't really bothersome to me.
I don't quite dislike it like Asa. Paper Girls has a rich setting, stunning visuals and charming dialogue, but for now, the characters are little more than broad sketches. You can see that BKV is going for kind of a "horror ET" feel, so I think it's understandable why there's so little characterization, in favor of…
I gave up on Mighty Avengers because ugh, Greg Land, you sumbitch. I should probably go back and read it but it's hard to buy his stuff week to week. If it's on Marvel Unlimited, that would be ideal.
It's disappointing to see so much of ANAD Marvel feel, I don't know, too safe. I've liked some of the new books, namely All New Wolverine, quite a bit, but on the whole, this is the least amount of Marvel comics I've read in probably 5 years. Yes, part of that is that I'm primarily an X-Men guy but I feel like Marvel…
Submitting a droll New Yorker caption Rat just doesn't have the same ring, I guess.
Point taken.
This is giving almost too much credit to Millar, who mostly exists to just waggle his eyebrows while saying "Not to play devil's advocate here, but…"
Pizza Rat is the best argument for why the phrase "East Coast Elites" may be severely misleading.
The sun never sets on this one puddle.
You're a little shorte for a pedant.
