As an OKC native and fan from the start, this disgusts me.
Actually, IS proclaimed at the beginning of Ramadan, that suicide bombers would score extra martyr points during this period :-(
Murdering families that are breaking their Ramadan fast doesn't sound very Islamic.
That’s why Volvo called Tesla out on this earlier this year. They said that semi autonomous driving that relies on human monitoring was dangerous.
Agreed. Automated transportation of any sort requires a serious level of perceptual reeducation before deployment/licensing. Just look to aviation. The expanding automation of cockpits has required continual crisis management retraining for pilots, and there have been a number of tragedies that have involved some…
The thing is, the way it’s “meant” to be used is absolutely pointless. Cruise control is useful because a) people have a hard time maintaining a constant speed AND paying attention to the road, and b) feet can cramp up after a while. It doesn’t provide any incentive to look away; in fact, it reduces the need to look…
That’s a false choice. Neither distracted drivers nor half-baked software should be operating an automobile.
The gun lobby doesn’t sell guns with a “public beta” feature
Only the drivers defense is why would he be paying attention. even if the autopilot tells him he needs to maintain control, the instant you let the computer take over you are already one step disconnected with the act of driving. TLDR: The person is still to blame but the concept of an autopilot is to blame for the…
It is important to note that Tesla disables Autopilot by default and requires explicit acknowledgement that the system is new technology and still in a public beta phase before it can be enabled.
Imagine if this collision happened with a bus or other vehicle with people in it vs. a trailer with cargo, etc. Can’t imagine the legal implications for Tesla is others aside from the Tesla driver had been hurt or killed.
still in a public beta phase
Interestingly enough, I’m fairly certain I learned of OK Go’s neatly choreographed videos on Giz or Gawker.
Counterpoint: OK Go is great and this sucks.
No, that isn’t what happened at all and you definitely don’t know what you’re talking about. Just stop.
None of those are real world guns.
You must be blind
On top of that, here are some helmets from the game:
This guy is a con artist, and he should be shut down.
