“Looking for LaToya" also served to foreshadow looking for Tiffany, and how no one was doing anything to help her family and friends find her.

I am married to a white man and if he told me I am a “different” kind of black woman, we would no longer be married. As a matter of fact, he hasn’t spoken to his brother for almost 10 years for saying pretty much that same thing - he called “some” black people the “n” word butt not others, in my husband’s presence,…
That would actually be a good look for him. He appears to be a bit burned out on LA life.
I agree that Andrew seemed to let Molly off the hook after saying he was ‘different’. But, perhaps, he’s also cool enough to wait until they are back home from the vacation to drill down on her bullshit. Were I in that situation I probably would do my best to hold onto my chill until we were back so as not to throw…
But knowing what we now know from the next episode…
Hard disagree about the beginning of the episode! Issa doesn’t realize Molly’s wrong—she’s actively worried Molly might be right. When she calls Nathan, she tells him she would definitely have done the same for him, and she KNOWS she’s lying. That’s why she spends half the episode trying to prove to herself she’s a…
How could those girls play Issa that way? Never trust a hen party. Also, Mirror Issa is my new favorite character .
Andrew is a really patient person. I thought he handled the situation really well.
One more thing - maybe I’m alone in this, but once I hit ~30 YO, I realized I should abandon the use of the phrase “best friend.” If you’ve had a friend since middle school who is still your ride or die and probably always will be, sure, maybe they are still your best friend, what do I know?
I think you and I will never fundamentally agree that the show needs to add more focus to Tiffany and Kelli. I think getting the outlines and sketches by following Issa and Molly does the job perfectly and them remaining ‘supporting’ doesn’t clog up the thirty minutes this show has every week.
I mean shit, Molly only knows Andrew BECAUSE of Issa dating Nathan!
Also I was seriously mad at Condola for bailing on Issa like that. They’d been such partners.
Also also, I don’t know if I buy that Issa didn’t even try to get a favor from Daniel.
Molly spends too much of her time keeping score.
My hardest laugh of the episode was when they stopped running after they realized it was Stanley on the stretcher.
I should start by saying that I’m aware I’m biased toward Issa, but...
I have learned over time to try to be sensitive to others in this situation. I was raised to be (overly) inclusive when doing social things - I’m liable to call three to four people I know who MIGHT want to have lunch too. Once a very good friend of mine said ‘Do you mind if its just us when we go do this thing? You…
It’s pretty rude. Not aggressively rude, but passively. I’ve had plans with friends for dinner, lunch or some other activity, and then when I get there my friend has brought their partner/other friends. I did not make plans to hang with your partner or other friends; if you asked me ahead of time, I would have either…
I’d say it partially depends on the dynamics, in this particular instance it was definitely not Issa’s best play. Condola is a grown woman more than capable of feeding herself, she was perfectly content leaving the meeting. Issa knows that there’s some weird feelings with Molly about Condola (even if she doesn’t read…
I don’t dislike Lawrence but I get tired of shows who have the main character break up with their partner, but then the ex-partner just sticks around. I don’t feel like it is super realistic. In real life, a lot of people break up and entirely go their separate ways. Sometimes it feels like lazy writing or trying to…
his character lacks depth. i dont think there has been one episode of him saying anything real or intelligent. its just him banging girls and telling Issa he’s gotta go. He is not the one for her and his character is increasingly boring the fuck out of me.
I didn’t say it was new. I said, previously, his homosexuality was mostly in the subtext. They showed a boyfriend, but it was never really directly addressed and a lot of viewers felt it was a moment where Insecure could’ve fixed some of the homophobia that was rampant in the Jared/Molly storyline with a real,…
